Write your name and surname in full; for any other authors use initial(s) for the first name(s) followed by the surname.   1Dept Biomembranes, Golgi & Veratti Univ., Pavia, Italy
2Dept Bioblast Analyses, Altmann Univ., Leipzig, Germany

Travel Awards Application

Eligibility criteria

All trainees (students, postdoctoral fellows, medical residents, etc) are able to apply for a travel award. Travel award recipients are encouraged to present a poster and may be provided an opportunity for a short oral presentation in one of the Data Blitz or Early Career Researcher spotlight sessions.

While all trainees are eligible and encouraged to apply, we are particularly interested in receiving applicants who fulfil the following criteria:

  • Women, LGBTQIA+, non-binary individuals
  • Individuals with a disability: defined as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities
  • Individuals from historically underrepresented racial, ethnic or caste groups in their country of origin
  • Individuals living in a low- or lower-middle socio-economic area as defined by the World Bank

Application

When signing up for this workshop, indicate that you wish to apply for a travel award. Subsequently, through your personal myEBPS2026 area, the Travel Award section will enable you to provide additional data for the evaluation of your request:

  • Current academic position
  • A short text with a personal statement that reflects your goals, motivations and details about your scientific career (Max 250 words)
  • A short text on your motivation for applying for the travel award (Max 250 words)

Deadline: 5 May 2026.

To help the applicant:

Answering the first question, “Give us a personal statement that reflects your goals, motivations and details about your scientific career”, the candidate can explain not only their current goals and plans but also experiences that happened during the scientific career. Academic career pathways are diverse and conventional metrics (e.g., publications) are often not able to completely grasp the invisible experience throughout a researcher’s life (e.g., parental leave or living in a low economic area with no scientific support).

The second question, “Give us your motivation for applying for the travel award” allows the candidate to explain their motivation for applying for this travel award. Would receiving the travel award be crucial for being able to attend the workshop? How would attending this workshop be helpful in their scientific development and/or career?
